Very good reading of Emma and context. Although I'm a Janeite, I'm just an admirer and not an analyst. The law and policy commentator David Allen Green, who besides being a constitutional law whiz is a great Janeite, has had some illuminating comments and insights into all things Austen.
Here’s where I have to admit that although I feel down a very deep Austen hole in my late teens/twenties, I hadn’t actually reread Emma in something like 30 years. Of course, now I have to reread everything.
It is a truth universally acknowledge that any young man who has spent the evening at the Crown Inn in Highbury must be in need of one of Jeeves’ patented revivers.
