I had to buy a DVD to rewatch it and I ought to sit down and watch the outtakes - I suspect there's an awful lot of jokes that got cut for the final edit...
I still wonder about that one scene where David St Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel both have highly visible lip sores. Feels like a joke I didn't get there. (Is it about rock musicians and herpes?)
It's funny 'cause it's true - being a touring musician is a ridiculous existence and the Tap definitely - somehow - captured that perfectly. In my all-time Top 10 films :)

The question is, how many of the quotes are they going to revisit in the sequel? https://www.theguardian.com/film/2025/jul/25/spinal-tap-ii-2-the-end-continues-trailer-released
I love the Spinal Tap movie (and their songs! They excel at the "bad poetry" running gag, but are actually well played, and even catchy).
Still wondering about that one scene where Nigel and David both have large lip sores, though -- there's a subtle joke there that I don't quite get.

I’ve always heard this but delighted to have it confirmed by a professional ;
