I was grateful to Spielberg and Hanks for Band of Brothers when it came out, as it gave my cynical teenage son a real wake-up as to what boys hardly older than him had gone through, and why it was necessary and right to fight.
It became a focus of a lot of publicity breaks because journalists inevitably wanted to talk about it after seeing the movie, so Steven ended up being asked about it a lot in interviews

Another film I worked on (Saving Private Ryan)… that opening 20 minutes must be one of the most extraordinary pieces of filmmaking in modern times.
